Giant 20ft Nutcracker Stands Outside of Christmas Past in New Hope, PA

 Curious about where such a huge tourist attraction in New Hope, PA came from I decided to ask one of the co- owner’s, Pete where the giant nutcracker came from. He told me he was in Atlantic City and there in the front of one of Donald Trump’s casinos was this 20ft nutcracker. He knew immediately that it would be the perfect addition to the front of his store Christmas Past, so he inquired if it was for sale and for the right price it was. So he bought the giant nutcracker that once belonged to Donald Trump and it has become the heart of Christmas Past; it seems no one can resist taking a picture of the nutcracker or being in a picture with it.

Christmas Carolers – A Tradition Long Forgotten

What happened to the days of Caroling? When on an enchanted night before Christmas, carolers would sing songs at your door filling the air with melody and harmony. Their faces all rosy from the chill outside and a warm glow would surround them from the candles they held in their gloved hands. Some were bundled in their finest coats, other wore velvet cloaks covering elegant dresses, they were as beautiful to see as they were beautiful to hear. In those moments, while sharing a mug of hot cider with them and humming along all seemed right in the world, all was peaceful. I hope as another Christmas approaches us this year, that we can bring back caroling, for it is the season of giving. So why not give a little happiness to our neighbors, spread some love and some good cheer. Here’s one of my favorites among many, “The Wassail Song” original composer unknown, but it dates back to 12^th century England. Happy Caroling!

 Here we come a wassailing,
Among the leaves so green,
Here we come a wandering,                                                                                                                                                                                   So fair to be seen.
